PRE-IDENTIFIED CANDIDATE

Overview:

The Chief Accountant's Dept. - Specialized Finance - CDIC Reporting team is the TD Bank Financial Group's center of excellence and subject matter experts relating to CDIC Differential Premium (DP), Return of Insured Deposits (RID) and Data and Systems Requirement (DSR) regulatory reporting. The team's purpose is to calculate materially correct insured deposits and the corresponding insurance premium payable to CDIC. The team is also responsible for ensuring compliance, in all material respects, to the DSR By-law.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Specialized Finance - Chief Accountant's Dept., the incoming Senior Analyst will be dedicated to supporting the following team mandate:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of CDIC Differential Premium, Return of Insured Deposits and DSR files.
  • Ensure RID and DSR reports are materially reconciled to the general ledger.
  • Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable CDIC and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements relating to all CDIC reporting processes.
  • Participate in the execution of test cases on projects relating to launch of new deposit products or changes to the regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Over 5 years working experience of CDIC RID reporting.
  • Knowledge of the Bank's legal entities and subsidiaries financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Hands on experience in using the Bank of Canada RRS system and the Bank's mainframe reports.
  • Ability to take initiative and produce results either through independent work or collaborating effectively with a diverse team.
  • Aptitude to communicate and confidently interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparer of the CDIC DP and RID for two member institutions.
  • Assist in the creation of business requirements to request for system and reporting changes.
  • Execute test cases for business acceptance testing to implement changes to ensure alignment to CDIC regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring any changes to the CDIC regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in any ad-hoc requests from other groups within the Bank or by regulators.

Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of CDIC regulatory requirements.
  • Undergraduate degree and over 5 years banking experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build and manage relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient with data, data infrastructure and experience in developing new data processes.
