The SCS Manager provides advisory services in areas including accounting, treasury, and controllership for assigned business units outside of core distribution. Reporting to the Director, SCS, this position assists with the execution of key business and human capital strategies to improve processes and reduce risk for Henry Schein. Focused on problem solving and increasing standardization, this position partners with business unit CFOs, corporate SMEs and entity finance teams to maintain balance sheet integrity and effective internal controls.

The SCS Manager assists with the implementation of controllership standards and works with business units to adhere to these standards while leveraging best practices including compliance with GAAP and company policy. This position provides oversight and guidance for in-scope treasury activities within the assigned portfolios. The position supports business units by providing guidance regarding internal and external audit and deficiency mitigation recommendations. The SCS Manager conducts training in areas of responsibility while communicating observations to the Director SCS, business unit CFOs and local finance teams, facilitating continuous improvement. The SCS Manager also works closely with corporate resources, assuming an advisory role supporting the successful integration of acquisitions in areas of responsibility as defined above. This role partners to increase knowledge and skills within the entity finance teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide guidance on business unit close processes and procedures - mitigating risk and facilitating compliance with HS policy.
  • Review Quarterly Disclosure Checklists (QDCs) and share feedback.
  • Facilitate mid-quarter AR, inventory and other reserve reviews and conduct periodic balance sheet deep dives, to enhance balance sheet integrity, completeness and accuracy. Identify improvement opportunities and capture action items while sharing feedback.
  • Review treasury Disbursement Policy Recertifications (DPRs). Work with TSMs to identify control gaps, design compensating controls and partner to close identified gaps.
  • Assist business units with analysis and reporting regarding fx hedges.
  • Support other treasury functions including validation of restricted templates and user access changes.
  • Assists local teams regarding internal and external audit engagements and in clearing identified deficiencies related to in-scope areas of responsibility.
  • Provide observations and guidance to partners regarding business unit compliance with SOX, US GAAP and Henry Schein accounting policies.
  • Key contributor of an agile team with the focus on development, cross-functional skills, monitoring tasks and motivating entity finance team members.
  • Lead special projects and perform other duties as required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Strong accounting and financial knowledge including reporting, policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Independent worker, initiative-taker
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong ability to understand and communicate complex financial concepts
  • CPA preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 1 or more years of management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $95,990-$131,805 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
