Job Description Summary
The Advanced Lead Engineer - RISE Program will report to the Fan Advanced Mechanical Design Manager in Cincinnati, OH. This engineer will have potential to become a future leader in composites. This role will impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of GE Aerospace's Fan Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) Team and will have significant input into the team's priorities. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring operational judgment. Probable role responsibilities include the design of fan hardware, completion of rigs/tests, growth through mentorship, and leadership of the design review and engineering processes through manufacture of the prototypes required to deliver hardware for engine demonstrators.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in design engineering
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in aeromechanics, composites design or turbomachinery airfoil design.
- Experience with hardware design and engineering drawings.
- Experience with computer-aided design and stress analysis software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Self-starter with an eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutions.
