This job post is for the role of Advanced Lead Mechanical Engineer within the Campania Engineering Center organization, at Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business unit.
We are looking for a talented and experienced engineer expected to have the prime responsibility for the Mechanical Design of Engine Modules and Components of New Product Introduction and Future of Flight programs.

  • Development of new mechanical concepts to enable innovative engine architectures with specific focus on Turbine Modules.
  • Execute the design of assigned projects using sound engineering principles in agreement to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Work on CAD models and Drawings and lead people doing the same.
  • Issue drawings both at module and component level and manage the configuration of the product through control structure and Digital Engine.
  • Interact efficiently with manufacturing to assure concurrent engineering of product-process development.
  • Participate in design reviews and tech reviews. Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Efficient communicate with the team to improve collaboration and eliminate waste. Share information and promote open dialogue.
  • Developing deep knowledge of a technical discipline, being in touch with the technical community and proactively participate to the improvement and foster of new methodology/tools.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Master degree from an accredited university. Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Previous proven and consistent experience in an engineering design team.
  • Sound experience in CAD modelling & drafting tools (e.g. Unigraphics NX) and Configuration Management.
  • Fluent written and spoken Italian and English.
  • Clear thinking and diligent approach.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.

  • Previous experience in Turbine Aero-engines design is considered a plus.
  • Creativity, curiosity and passion for technical challenge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • System and open mindset, clear thinking.
  • Ability to handle complex problems using high level of judgement to make decisions.
  • Ability to offer new solutions outside of set parameters by using multiple internal and external sources to help arrive to a decision.
  • Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience..
