We are looking for an experienced Lead Automation Tester with Java expertise to join our team. In this role, you will take charge of quality assurance initiatives, mentor team members, and oversee the creation and implementation of automation frameworks across various projects. You will work closely with developers, QA specialists, product owners, and DevOps engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your leadership abilities, technical skills, and problem-solving aptitude will be crucial to the success of our testing strategies and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the automation testing strategy and roadmap for the team and projects
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to QA team members, fostering skill enhancement and knowledge sharing
  • Review and approve functional, integration, and acceptance test cases developed by the team
  • Automate complex test cases for regression, functional, and smoke testing to ensure thorough coverage
  • Plan, delegate, and oversee automation tasks to align with project timelines and quality benchmarks
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to support effective testing processes
  • Integrate testing cycles into DevOps workflows to enhance efficiency and continuous delivery practices
  • Collaborate with developers to identify code quality issues and advocate for testable system designs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues while recommending solutions to improve performance
  • Lead backend testing efforts, including validation of REST APIs and data-layer functionality
  • Manage test environments, test data, and version control for test scripts to ensure consistency and reliability
  • Track and report QA progress, metrics, and risks to stakeholders, offering actionable recommendations for risk mitigation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus
  • Five or more years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least three years focused on test automation or a combination of development and testing
  • At least one year of leadership experience in a QA or automation role
  • Extensive experience testing REST and SOAP APIs using tools like SOAPUI, Postman, and Groovy scripting
  • Proficiency in designing, maintaining, and managing automation scripts to meet system acceptance criteria
  • Proven track record of leading QA initiatives and implementing best practices within teams
  • Experience aligning automation strategies with Agile workflows and integrating testing into sprint cycles
  • Strong background in integrating automated testing with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker
  • Expertise in functional, integration, regression, and performance testing methodologies and tools
  • Experience writing and reviewing unit tests to ensure code reliability and usability, including edge case coverage
  • Thorough understanding of manual testing practices and transitioning manual test cases into automated frameworks
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities for addressing complex system challenges
  • Proficiency in creating detailed documentation, including test plans, procedural guides, and QA reports
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with English proficiency at a B2+ level or higher
