We are seeking a skilled Lead Automation Tester with expertise in Java to join our team. In this position, you will oversee quality assurance processes, mentor team members, and lead the design and implementation of automation frameworks across multiple projects. You will collaborate with developers, QA specialists, product owners, and DevOps engineers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your leadership, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills will be essential in driving effective testing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the automation testing strategy and roadmap for teams and projects
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to QA team members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing
  • Review and validate functional, integration, and acceptance test cases created by the team
  • Automate complex test scenarios for regression, functional, and smoke testing to achieve comprehensive coverage
  • Plan, assign, and monitor automation tasks to ensure alignment with project deadlines and quality standards
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to support robust testing practices
  • Integrate testing workflows into DevOps pipelines to optimize efficiency and streamline delivery processes
  • Collaborate with developers to identify gaps in code quality and advocate for testable system architecture
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues while recommending improvements to enhance performance
  • Lead backend testing efforts, including the validation of REST APIs and data-layer functionality
  • Manage test environments, test data, and version control for scripts to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Track and report QA progress, metrics, and risks to stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations for risk mitigation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
  • At least five years of experience in Quality Assurance, with three or more years focused on test automation or a combination of development and testing
  • A minimum of one year of leadership experience in a QA or automation-related role
  • Extensive experience in testing REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as SOAPUI, Postman, and Groovy scripting
  • Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and managing automation scripts to meet system acceptance criteria
  • Proven ability to lead QA initiatives and establish best practices within teams
  • Experience aligning automation strategies with Agile methodologies and integrating testing into sprint cycles
  • Strong expertise in integrating automated testing with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker
  • Comprehensive knowledge of functional, integration, regression, and performance testing techniques
  • Experience writing and reviewing unit tests to ensure code reliability, including edge cases and usability scenarios
  • In-depth understanding of manual testing practices and transitioning manual test cases into automated frameworks
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for addressing complex system challenges
  • Proficiency in creating detailed documentation such as test plans, procedural guides, and QA reports
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with English proficiency at a B2+ level or higher
