Content Marketing Manager
“I love that my role requires both a strategic and creative mindset because it helps me from feeling stuck doing the same thing every day.”
-Maddie

What attracted you to work at your company? How did you know it would be a good fit?

During my job search my biggest priority was finding a great culture match. I was targeting roles with similar responsibilities, so I knew my decision would ultimately come down to the people. As I started the interview process with AB Tasty, the responsiveness and clear communication was an immediate green flag. Conversations with my future teammates and manager went great too. I saw an alignment between our communication styles and a preference for quality of work over quantity. Everything clicked.

What are you responsible for in your current role?

As content marketing manager on the global content team, my role is to help write and produce high-impact pieces that generate leads and drive brand awareness worldwide. This includes content such as e-books, landing pages, case studies, blogs, social campaigns, and our “1000 Experiments Club” podcast. I love that my role requires both a strategic and creative mindset because it helps me from feeling stuck doing the same thing every day.

What are you working on right now that excites or inspires you?

Currently, I’m working on a global customer story campaign. It’s fascinating to learn how adopting the experimentation mindset can transform a company's culture and encourage greater innovation. Daring to be innovative is what will set companies apart. And it’s ingrained in the culture at AB Tasty that as long as you are learning, you’ll never lose.

What do you value most about your company’s or team’s culture? What sets it apart from other places you’ve worked?

People work hard, but they also take time away from work very seriously. At previous jobs, I felt I needed to be available even during my time off. Even with a team spread out across multiple countries and time zones, there is no pressure to respond during off hours at AB Tasty. In fact, I've been called out a few times for being active on Slack before my day starts. I’m also very lucky to be part of an incredible team. For us, strong communication is the key to putting out great work. My entire direct team is located in Paris while I’m remote in the US, but I’ve never felt disconnected. We are intentional with building in time to sync on projects and keep conversations flowing with Slack even if it’s just a meme or Taylor Swift reference.

What’s one thing you would want a candidate to know about what it’s like to work at your company?

Once you start working for a French company, you’ll never want to go back. I had the opportunity to do my onboarding in Paris, and it gave me a really good early insight into the company culture. People care about doing great work, but there is an equally important emphasis on taking time away from work to prevent burnout. It’s not unusual to see people take holiday for 2-week periods, which is something I never experienced in US companies.

What are some ways your company or team supports and stays connected to people who are working remotely?

It sounds so simple, but having a strong Slack game is crucial for feeling connected as a remote employee. Projects can move quicker when we’re not stuck in long email chains and can instead hop into a huddle to quickly solve a problem. It’s also a great place to forge new connections over things like pets or food hobbies. Trust and autonomy are also a huge part of working remotely. My teammates clock out at the end of the day trusting that I will keep projects running during US hours. And vice versa, I know I’ll start my day with questions answered and new progress being made.
