The Team

The HBO/Max Global Original Programming Planning Team is responsible for crafting strategic long-term global original programming (OP) rollout plans and release strategies in close partnership with HBO/Max Creative Executives. As an integral part of WBD's Streaming organization, the team spearheads and collaborates cross-functionally on all HBO/Max OP strategic planning for Max globally.

The Job

We are hiring a Manager, based in New York, who will provide strategic support in the development of HBO/Max global OP planning. Reporting to the Senior Director of HBO/Max Global OP Planning, the Manager will oversee HBO/Max international OP plans and manage functions integral to the development of impactful holistic global OP plans, strategic release dating, and rollout strategies. The role involves a high level of close collaboration with key partners across WBD - in particular, with Content Planning leads across EMEA / LatAm / APAC and additional key International stakeholders - and requires managing relationships and driving close partnership across teams (e.g., Content Finance, Content Strategy & Analysis, Business Affairs, Marketing, Distribution, Media Relations, Merchandising, etc.).

The Daily

  • Contribute to the development of long-term rollout plans and specific release date recommendations for HBO and Max original programming (OP) globally.
  • Manage International OP Planning communications, materials, and processes in close partnership with the Content Planning regional leads, including: leading meetings related to International OP premiere timing and long-term title planning, overseeing updates to holistic International OP rollout planning grids, and facilitating efficient and clear communication with stakeholders across Business Affairs, Marketing, Media Relations, Merchandising & Operational Scheduling, etc.
  • Represent a long-term HBO/Max OP planning perspective in close collaboration and projects with partner teams such as Business Strategy, Content Strategy & Analysis, Content Finance, etc.
  • Demonstrate expertise on competitive streaming landscape OP mix and content trends as well as internal focus areas related to content planning and strategy.
  • Drive the creation of the various integral content planning materials synthesizing HBO/Max global OP release details (e.g., OP rollout grids, content reference guides, release volume summaries and analysis, etc.) for collaborative discussion and active dissemination across key WBD partner teams.
  • Contribute to ongoing competitive content tracking materials with a focus on the evolving streaming OP landscape; includes collaborating on the team's competitive trend tracking and ad-hoc analyses involving the macro-level streaming OP landscape, while helping to articulate overall trends and top-line takeaways shared with key stakeholders across the company.
  • Manage the ongoing creation of presentations and decks for senior leadership meetings.

The Essentials

  • 4-5+ years of full-time work experience; background preferably includes at least one of the following: Entertainment industry content-specific experience (e.g., content planning, content strategy, long-term strategic scheduling, content research, etc.) OR Management Consulting within the Media, Technology, or Telecom practice
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects with a variety of deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining the highest attention to detail.
  • Superlative ability to interface and collaborate with senior-level stakeholders across the company in a professional, efficient, and amiable manner; aptness for clear, intelligent, and high-level oral and written communication.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize data to help inform and support long-term OP planning and rollout decision-making.
  • Leading knowledge of the competitive streaming content landscape, with a keen understanding of current content trends impacting the industry.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work and think independently while also being a team player.
  • Immense passion for streaming programming and the media/entertainment/technology sector; enthusiasm for foreign language and international content highly desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and digital research skills.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $62,790.00 - $116,610.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
