CNN is looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Marketing Technology & Data to lead the development and implementation of marketing technology solutions and data analytics infrastructure supporting the Product and Growth teams within CNN's Digital Products & Services division. This senior role will be pivotal in driving the success of our subscription business ensuring that our technology stack and data capabilities align with business objectives. You will oversee all marketing technology platforms, data pipelines, and analytics tools, collaborating closely with acquisition, lifecycle marketing, and product teams to optimize performance.

Your Role Accountabilities:

MarTech Strategy & Management: Partner with marketing, product and engineering leadership to develop and oversee the marketing technology strategy and technology stack, including CRM, marketing automation, segmentation tools and customer data platforms, ensuring alignment with engagement and subscription strategies.

Vendor Strategy, Management and Integration: Lead the evaluation, implementation and ongoing management of marketing technology and messaging partners (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, CDP), including build vs buy decisions. Ensure partners are seamlessly integrated into our existing marketing technology ecosystem and CNN's editorial, messaging, data and marketing tools and processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Growth Marketing, Digital Products & Services, Brand and Creative Marketing and broader Warner Bros. Discovery teams to align stakeholder needs with our marketing technology capabilities and roadmap. Ensure marketing technology is easy to use, effective and reliable, and ensure our tools are adopted, used and leveraged by our marketing, product and editorial stakeholders.

Analytics & Reporting: Champion the use of data, analytics and customer segmentation to optimize marketing and messaging performance. Partner with our data team to design and implement marketing analytics frameworks to track KPIs related to acquisition, retention, and engagement. Develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to the marketing, product and editorial teams about the effectiveness of their messaging campaigns

Data Infrastructure, Governance and Compliance: Partner with our data team to maintain a robust data infrastructure for seamless collection, organization, and analysis of customer data across all platforms and channels. Ensure all marketing technology and data activities adhere to privacy and security regulations established by Warner Bros. Discovery and CNN.

Innovation and Optimization: Help develop a culture of experimentation by enabling our marketing and editorial teams to easily test, learn and optimize. Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies across our marketing and messaging processes. Continuously explore new tools and technologies to ensure we are adopting cutting edge technology to improve our marketing and messaging capabilities.

Team leadership: Recruit, mentor and develop a high performing team that is committed to promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience: 8+ years in marketing technology, data analytics, or marketing operations, particularly focused on digital products or subscription-based services.

Expertise: Hands-on experience with marketing technology platforms, customer data platforms (CDPs), customer journey orchestration tools, marketing automation and CRM platforms with a focus on utilizing large consumer datasets to drive personalized customer experiences.

Data Analytics: Strong background in data analytics, data warehousing, and business intelligence, with proven experience in building data pipelines and applying customer insights to drive marketing outcomes.

Digital Marketing: Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (e-mail, paid social, display, push) and paid media bidding and optimization strategies.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with data management platforms, API integrations, real time data pipelines and cloud technologies, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.

Cross-Functional Skills: Comfortable in a matrixed environment, with proven ability to partner across Product, Growth, Data Science, and Engineering teams to integrate and optimize solutions.

Project Management: Proven ability to lead projects, manage vendors, and oversee the development of complex solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable marketing insights for cross-functional teams and executive leadership.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $136,570.00 - $253,630.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
