The Visa team in the Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific (AuNZSP) cluster is dedicated to fostering innovation and driving growth within the dynamic payments landscape of this diverse region. As Head of Strategy & Business Transformation you will report directly into the Group Country Manager (GCM) and dual report to the Asia Pacific Head of Strategy. This role will support the GCM in developing organic / inorganic growth strategies for the cluster, driving cross-functional execution, conducting market intel / share assessment, supporting collection of customer insights and managing the cluster Business Planning & Operations function.  

What a VP, Head of Strategy & Business Transformation, AuNZSP does at Visa: 

  • Key member of the AuNZSP leadership team, taking ownership of the project pipeline, team management, development and culture. 
  • Leads strategy development and strategic planning efforts across all portfolio countries / business units in the Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific cluster, ensuring global imperatives of the Visa 2030 strategy are embedded in all country/account plans.  
  • Maintain cluster business landscape knowledge, to provide solid foundational context for critical strategic projects.  
  • Evaluate investment opportunities in line with 2030 strategic goals.  
  • Develop the right frameworks/governance model to support the prioritization of strategic initiative execution/implementation across the cluster including pricing and interchange strategy, as well as all forms of payment flows from card to account to account. 
  • Inter-functional coordination for the development of cluster strategic initiatives and cluster operational requirements 
  • Across Consumer Products & Solutions, Commercial & Money Movement Solutions, and Value-Added Services in close coordination with cluster leads and functional leadership teams both within and external to the cluster. 
  • Partner Finance and Sales teams  to define commercial strategies that ensure we drive key priorities 
  • Coordinate with AP Corporate Strategy team to ensure alignment between regional and global priorities 
  • Leading and managing a team of Strategy/BPO/Analytics professionals to effectively partner and drive solutions for internal clients. 
  • Measure and drive efforts to accelerate time-to-revenue / revenue conversion as well as drive pipeline management discipline  
  • Conduct market intelligence/share analysis and consumer research 
  • Attract, develop, motivate, and retain a team of high performing, high potential professionals who are well positioned to become future leaders in the company. Provide continuous coaching and training to the team.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 15 to 20 + years of experience leading strategy projects at top-tier Management Consulting firms or in a Corporate Strategy group in a multinational environment.  
  • A deep knowledge of payments industry demonstrated through practical experience.  
  • Proven track record of delivering high impact results working on projects in the areas of corporate strategy, growth initiatives, and new market/segment/business strategies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be a trusted advisor by developing significant long-term, trust-based relationships with demanding, senior-level executives at large, complex organizations. 
  • Ability to develop strong governance models and clearly defined implementation plans for strategic priorities 
  • Strong analytical and strategic acumen. 
  • Excellent presentation and verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Able to manage work in different time zones effectively. 
  • Recognized as a thought leader.  
  • Ability to influence the organization in order to make strategy happen.  
  • Inclusive leader with experience building, empowering and continuously improving / developing high performing diverse teams.
