About the Role

Uber's Strategic Sourcing team is evolving as the company continues to focus on the bottom line. We have the opportunity to show our global stakeholders the value of working with Strategic Sourcing. The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager, Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for marketing-related procurement. This role will manage the small and mighty Strategic Sourcing team focused on driving cost savings, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and overall procurement excellence across media, digital, creative, sponsorships, events, and other marketing services.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the internal Marketing leadership team, helping ensure they are able to hit their goals, while ensuring we are maximizing the impact of the budgeted dollars.
  • Work closely with Strategic Finance, getting more involved in the planning cycle to elevate Strategic Sourcing's ability to drive meaningful value for our Marketing leadership team.
  • Work with our stakeholders and supplier partners to raise the bar on scoping projects to ensure all parties are aligned on the expected output and are thinking through the most efficient way to get there .
  • Manage the global Strategic Sourcing Marketing team overseeing about $2B in annual spend.
  • Partner with stakeholders to lead supplier selection activities including conducting RFI's, RFP's and renegotiations which may include the following:
  • Lead total cost of ownership analysis and cost modeling.
  • Lead negotiation plan development including mapping out detailed approaches, fallback positions, and acceptable terms and conditions.
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Identify and manage violations and exceptions to existing supplier contracts.
  • Measure, manage and improve supplier performance against negotiated SLA's and quality metrics.
  • Implement and lead regular supplier business review meetings.
  • Partner closely with the Legal team supporting Marketing not only on day-to-day deal support but also to be looking for constant process improvement ideas.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Strategic Sourcing field and/or managing and working with agencies

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional experience in Strategic Sourcing field or managing and working with agencies.
  • Hands-on experience leading Transformational Sourcing initiatives to mature purchasing practices and drive savings. Experience supporting or working closely with internally managed contingent labor programs will be helpful, as we look to drive true staff augmentation through the proper channels.
  • Expert negotiation skills with a proven track record of savings.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience managing global procurement responsibilities, using a strategic sourcing methodology, including: opportunity analysis and identification, supplier selection, risk and compliance evaluation, contract negotiation, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to both develop strategic sourcing plans and dive deep in contract details with a solid understanding of how contracts are structured.
  • Experience with supplier report cards and supplier management.
  • Self-starter who can build sourcing/procurement credibility within groups not accustomed to working with procurement.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year.
