You must have a grasp of tax accounting and compliance concepts and an awareness of international issues facing a fast growing multinational. You will be working within the tax team and helping to shape the internal tax processes as well as supporting new products. In your role you will work with highly motivated, exceptionally skilled, multi-cultural team members.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for overseeing indirect tax filings for the EMEA region, prepared by the tax center of excellence in India
- Ensure indirect tax filings are compliant with laws and regulations in multiple countries
- Analyze and review data to prepare filings and identify risks, opportunities, and optimizations
- Support the team with data reconciliation, simplification, and understandability across different data sources to comply with tax authorities requests
- Collaborate closely with different (indirect tax) reporting, accounting, and tax technical teams to provide expert advice on indirect tax reporting matters
- Continuous focus on the development of Uber's business, Uber's products and Uber's systems
- Continuous focus on how to use technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with changes in indirect regulations and guidelines in the EMEA region
What You'll Need
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in VAT advisory, planning and compliance
- Extensive knowledge of indirect tax technical principles and regulations in EMEA countries
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze tax technical data
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with managing teams of indirect tax professionals
- Experience with introducing technology based solutions in the field of indirect tax reporting
