Job Description Summary
As part of tax team, you would be required to review GST compliances, lead GST audits and litigation for Steam Power - India, including a listed entity. You will be reporting to Senior Manager - taxes responsible for leading both Direct and Indirect taxes in the business. Able to independently represent company in Indirect tax offices.
Job Description
Your Role:
- Handle all wing-to-wing tax reporting and tax accounting processes including review of compliance, tax provision, day to day advisory support and settlement.
- Responsible for review of monthly/annually compliances relating to Indirect taxes.
- Collating all documents and information from various stakeholders at company and analysing data required for tax computation, replying to GST notices and appearing before the GST offices for a personal hearing. Responsible for tracking and providing data/drafting replies for GST audits/ litigation to consultants.
- Working closely with the respective GST departmental authorities for the purpose of responding to the notices, assessment or any other routine correspondence, etc.
- Keeping abreast of the changes in law and its effect on the company and informing the management/team accordingly.
- Manage statutory and internal audits from an Indirect tax perspective.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and non-finance functional team. May lead small projects related to Indirect tax. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issue.

Required Qualifications
- CA/ lawyer/ MBA (minimum 5+ years post qualification working experience in Indirect taxation).
- Hands on working experience in SAP environment.
- Having good command on Excel and any other analytical software.
