Job Description
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for providing a high level of engineering services to all their customers in a safe and efficient manner. They are expected to maximise the availability of manufacturing plant, and site utilities and to preserve the long term asset value of the site.
The key accountabilities and skills required are as follows:
Accountability:
- Responds, prioritises and assigns resources based on a need from any site function, Operations (PODs) or the sites needs. Participants with all site teams as the need arises to address multi-functional problems and is a key member of the sites escalation processes and huddles.
- Develops the personnel, team and structure in safety, compliance, planning, facilities, utilities, maintenance engineer, administration and reliability functions in Operational Engineering. Investing where required and ensuring there are clear expectations and accountability withing the team.
- Leads, plans and prioritises the resources in compliance, planning, facilities, utilities, maintenance engineer, administration, safety and reliability functions in Engineering Operations. Creates evaluation methods that highlight the performance of Operational Engineering across all areas.
- Ensures that all equipment, utilities and facilities on site are maintained in constant compliance with industry standards regarding safety, quality and environmental protection.
- Supports the preparation and management of the spares, repairs & maintenance and facilities budgets.
- Formulates and implements maintenance policies consistent with overall site manufacturing strategy.
- Leads, develops, drives and supports PPI programme and other saving initiatives in Engineering Operations showing year on year benefit in reduction of scopes of work and efficiency.
- Ensure that engineering operations safety and quality investigations are carried out in detail with clear solutions and CAPAs assigned to close any compliance gaps and lead / support / participate in multi-functional quality and deviations where required.
- Ensures that team members have the abilities to perform their duties and are technically capable of doing so.
- Embeds a culture of zero accidents, defects and waste.
- Fulfils a variety of other, ad hoc responsibilities that are assigned to them and that are consistent with their role as a department group leader.
