Job Description

Position:

As a Scientist II in Research & Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the outstanding chance to chip in to the development and improvement of technologies and methods. By working closely with R&D specialists, you will deepen your existing scientific competences.

KEY Responsibilities:

  • Improve current assays: Develop, strategize, and conduct experiments, align requirements with the collaborators and update documentation.
  • Troubleshoot reagent related issues: Identify the root cause of any issues and propose and implement corrective and preventive actions. Your confirmed problem-solving skills will drive continuous improvement and ensure detailed operations.
  • Analyze data and experimental results: Apply your strong analytical skills to examine data, offer scientific interpretations, and draw significant conclusions that support the successful implementation of our research projects.
  • Deliver educational technical presentations: Demonstrate your expertise by delivering engaging technical presentations to both internal and external individuals. Your strong communication skills will be important in sharing our scientific advancements.
  • Improve practical skills through continuous learning: Proactively pursue opportunities to improve your practical skills in laboratory methods, staying updated with the latest advancements in the field of science.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues: Partnership is at the core of our success, and you will work closely with colleagues in team and across different sites. Together, we will contend against the most daring scientific challenges.
  • Lead administrative tasks: In addition to your scientific responsibilities, you will also manage administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory, promoting efficiency and order.

Requirements for qualification / Education / Experience:

  • University degree in chemistry, technology or natural sciences, Master's or Bachelor's preferred with practical work experience.
  • Knowledge of the main methods of molecular biology, product properties, areas of application.
  • Work experience in a laboratory, ability to use laboratory equipment and perform laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to analyze, summarize experimental data, draw conclusions, propose solutions, prepare reports.
  • Good knowledge of Lithuanian and English (written and spoken)
  • Computer skills (MS Office).
  • Knowledge of documentation principles is an advantage.
  • Excellent work planning and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €26 200,00-€39 250,00.
