Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist II to join our team as a Field Applications Scientist/Engineer. As a world-class leader in the field of Engineering, Thermo Fisher Scientific provides exceptional opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality DualBeam product demonstrations, develop new techniques, and applications for Thermo Fisher Scientific partners and customers in the Materials Science marketplace.
  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.
  • Assist with all phases of the sales cycle as a technical product expert.
  • Cultivate positive customer relationships, act as a high-level customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues, and provide in-depth technical presentations.
  • Provide customer support and applications training post-sales cycle and after the instrument has been installed.
  • Collaborate with marketing/development groups on future product developments by providing continuous feedback on system performance, features, and potential problems.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry (advanced degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant position within the research environment, including recent exposure to DualBeam technology.
  • Strong interest in electron microscopy and correlative workflows.
  • Knowledge of advanced technology diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, operational optimization, and experience with analytical equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills tailored for a diverse audience.
  • Proven track record of working well with cross-functional and cross-cultural diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 50%) and possess a valid passport.
  • Covid-19 vaccination and/or routine testing may be required.
