Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for an ambitious research physician to fill the role of Research Physician II. Join us in Pretoria, South Africa and be a part of our mission to revolutionize clinical studies and provide world-class healthcare solutions.
Key responsibilities for a Research Physician are as follows:
- Conduct all clinical trials strictly according to ICH GCP, local regulations, study protocols, and company processes.
- Ensure the medical wellbeing and safety of participants, emphasizing flawless execution of all study protocols.
- Drive clinical oversight and quality of studies at the site or with Principal Investigator (PI) oversight at other sites.
- Proactively participate in and engage with study targets, contributing to the commercial success of the site through recruitment, enrolment, and retention of study participants.
- Coordinate and lead all aspects of multiple studies simultaneously, with the responsibility of PI and sub-Investigator roles.
- Reviews enrolment progress, pre-screening and screening success rates, screen failure rates, safety and retention of participants.
- Interprets protocols and IB.
- Manages and reviews IVRS, CRF/EDC, if applicable.
- Oversees management of investigational medical product (IMP).
- Oversees multiple studies and/or studies with higher numbers.
- Completes documentation for PI handover.
- Cares for and protects the safety of participants through ethical conduct; this
should receive the highest priority at all times during all aspects of the study. - Fulfills and complies with all medical duties, ensuring that clinical trials are
performed to acceptable medical, scientific and ethical standards and meet the requirements as per protocol, SOP/COP ICH and local GCP guidelines and
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will require the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a Principal Investigator (PI) in clinical trials.
- Outstanding comprehension of ICH GCP guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement study protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for contributing to world-class research initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
