What will you do?

As an Inventory Specialist for the Stocking Program, you will play a crucial role in leading and optimizing the Customer Stocking Agreement (CSA) process. CSAs are agreements between Thermo Fisher Scientific and the customer where we agree to stock specified inventory levels at our warehouse to ensure availability and reduce lead times. Your primary responsibility will be to lead all aspects of the implementation, maintenance, and performance of these agreements, ensuring seamless inventory management and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Agreement Management:

  • Initiate, negotiate, and finalize CSAs with customers based on established guidelines and objectives.
  • Review and revise CSA terms as needed to align with changing customer demands and business objectives.
  • Ensure all agreements align with legal and regulatory requirements.

Inventory Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor inventory levels at customer sites to ensure compliance with CSA terms.
  • Analyze usage patterns and demand forecasts to optimize stocking levels and prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Implement strategies to minimize inventory holding costs while meeting customer service levels.

Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding CSA inquiries, issues, and adjustments.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal partners (sales, logistics, finance) to ensure alignment and support for CSA activities.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with customers to evaluate satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Generate regular reports on CSA performance metrics, including inventory turnover, fill rates, and cost savings.
  • Use data insights to recommend process improvements and enhance efficiency in CSA operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Find opportunities for process optimization and automation to streamline CSA management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement standard methodologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA degree with related experience required.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in inventory management, supply chain operations, or customer service.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with customers and internal partners.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM) or similar credentials.
  • Experience in contract management or customer agreement negotiations.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
