How will you make an impact?

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer II to join our R&D Engineering team in Logan, UT. As part of our Bioproduction Group, you will have the opportunity to support the developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines.

What will you do?

  • Drive process and product innovation by adapting both existing and novel single-use technologies.
  • Support new and existing product development pipeline through collaboration with the R&D teams to generate new product ideas, evaluate existing product and evaluate new technologies for feasibility and application into bioprocess workflows.
  • Lead activities to improve Safety, Quality, Cost Reduction and Product Improvement of products with a multi-functional team to meet the business need.

How will you get Here?

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Similar) with 3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience.

Experience:

  • 3D Modeling (SolidWorks Preferred)
  • Product Data Management (PDM)
  • Laboratory research, testing, and process development experience.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, software proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
