Job Responsibilities:
- Apply Thermo Fisher Scientific's Practical Process Improvement (PPI) tools to lead or facilitate productivity, scrap reduction, process improvement, and cost improvement projects.
- Resolve factory or field issues by interacting with the appropriate functional groups to achieve resolution.
- Take ownership of engineering change orders to support factory and service as needed.
- Train Manufacturing and Service personnel in new product build, test, install, and repair procedures.
- Define the Bill of Materials (BOM) structure for new product introduction.
- Define and create test, assembly, installation, and service procedures.
- Support field service engineers with first installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure proper working order. This may require travel to various customer locations worldwide to support installations and upgrades.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
- 3+ years of experience in a high-tech industry environment.
- Proven track record of leading engineering projects from concept to production release.
- Ability to diagnose sophisticated electro-mechanical systems using electrical schematics, DVM, oscilloscopes, function generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience in bringing technology solutions to improve the quality, efficiency, and cost of manufacturing and service.
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing and/or service.
- Must have the ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Visio, etc.) to analyze, organize, and communicate data/information throughout the organization in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experienced in CAD design and evaluating tolerance stack-ups using SolidWorks.
- Skilled at applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Precision mechanism design, integration, and analysis.
- Experience using Product Document Management systems, including SolidWorks PDM Vault and Siemens Teamcenter.
- Experience with the use of statistical process control, statistical problem-solving methods, FMEA, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc.
- Experience in bringing technology solutions to improve the quality, efficiency, and cost of manufacturing and service.
- Knowledge of core technologies, including vacuum, SEM, optics design, motion control, and process automation.
- Knowledge of applications in the field of Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA).

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $85,000.00-$95,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
