Job Overview

The Finance Manager for Plant Operations will be responsible for acting as Controller for the Supply Chain organization and providing financial support to the entire Operations organization in Automotive Americas. The manager will lead the consolidation of results and projections for Auto Americas Operations and preparation of analysis and projections to facilitate decision making and improve financial performance. The manager will be responsible for inventory management processes, including physical counts and approvals.

The manager leads a team of four analysts, each focused on consolidation of results, supply chain, procurement and inventory.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and 5-year strategic plan process for Auto Americas Operations
  • Develop short-term and long-term financial models that identify risk; provide actionable business insights and recommendations related to Operations
  • Provide analysis and explanations for Executive Management comparing actual and forecast results related to production costs and inventory
  • Function as an effective finance business partner supporting Supply Chain organization
  • Continuous improvement of processes, systems and reports, including the automation of reporting and analysis processes
  • Drive organizational talent through development, retention and recruitment efforts

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA a plus.
  • Experience in Finance activities and skills such as Accounting or cost accounting.
  • Experience supporting Operations, Supply chain (freight, logistics, imports) or Materials (Procurement, material productivity, purchase price variance accounting) organizations a plus.
  • Strong business sense, understanding drivers for financial performance and how to manage them to improve results.
  • Familiarity with Operations organizations, esp. supply chain, procurement and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. Capable of translating complex analysis into simple messages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A high degree of initiative, hands on mentality and continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfort with ambiguity, demonstrates intellectual curiosity and ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to influence and partner with internal customers effectively.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Experience with Hyperion, BPC and SAP systems are desired.
  • Data Analytics skills (Tableau, PowerBI, Python, R, SQL) is a plus.
