Job Description:

Reporting to the VP, Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM), Enablement, Innovation and Insights, we are looking for an accomplished leader to join our team as the Assistant Vice President (AVP), FCRM, Innovation (CAN & EAP).

  • Understands the existing FCRM processes and investigates and advises on areas of improvement through the usage of innovative solutions to drive efficiency and effectiveness in critical FCRM functions including operations and investigations
  • Creates and oversees the execution of FCRM's strategy for the use of innovative automation (including RPA, NLP) and process enhancements to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency across FCRM, including the FIU
  • Mobilizes teams and provides direction and oversight over all technology-related change and delivery requirements as related to existing FCRM processes
  • Ensures industry and technology best practices are delivered in FCRM's technology and business intelligence capabilities as related to existing FCRM processes
  • Anticipates emerging issues/trends and organizational challenges and translates them into innovative solutions to enable business strategies

Shared Responsibilities / Decision Authorities

  • Partners closely with the FCRM senior executive team, the Compliance Innovation leader, Platforms/Technology Services, EPDE, and internal RPA Hubs to achieve FCRM's innovation objectives for more efficient and effective operations
  • Works closely with appropriate internal counterparts to plan and execute on aligned technology and innovation strategy

Capabilities Required

  • Subject Matter Expert in automation/RPA, NLP, AI and machine learning
  • Possesses and demonstrates expertise in AML/ATF processes and programs
  • Strategic thinker and clear communicator
  • Skilled leader, inspires and operates through influence
  • Delivers on objectives, focuses on what matters and can work across silos to build effective working relationships
  • Clear, concise communicator - able to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders and educate on technical ideas and methodologies to groups and individuals with and without technical expertise in these areas
  • Ability to drive complex change
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinking, balanced by operational pragmatism

Skills, Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required, advanced technical degree including Master or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g. economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering or operations research) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in building leading automation solutions to transform AML functions
  • Extensive experience and advanced expertise in statistics, numerical methods, modeling tools, optimization, and operations within the financial services sector
  • Experience presenting to Senior Executives, Board members, regulators and other external entities/stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a complex, matrix environment
  • Ability to deliver day to day commitments and complex projects on time and within budget
