As Compliance Manager HR Operations, you will assume responsibility for strategizing, overseeing, and monitoring audit and compliance initiatives within the HR Operations function across Europe with an initial focus on Payroll and Workforce Management.
What you will do:
- Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for all SOX, HR Compliance and Risk Management related matters within the EMEA HR Operations department
- Develop and implement robust internal controls within the EMEA HR Operations team to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards.
- Assess risks and recommend comprehensive strategies to proactively manage and mitigate potential risks to the organization.
- Uphold objectivity, independence, and due professional care in alignment with both Stryker's internal guidelines and external regulatory standards.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize business processes and policies to enhance organizational efficiency and foster an improved operational environment.
- Create and implement self-assessment tools to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures across entities, promoting a culture of compliance.
- Conduct thorough testing of key business processes with a high risk to ensure adherence to internal control procedures and standards.
- Efficiently implement corrective actions for any identified issues to maintain operational integrity and compliance.
- Coordinate audit preparations, including data collection, process documentation, and communication with internal and external auditors.
- Collaborate with both internal and external auditors to ensure the successful achievement of audit objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
- Collaborate with the other departments (such as Finance, Tax and Legal) to address SOX compliance issues and implement preventive and corrective actions as necessary
What you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- 5-7 years' of work experience in the field of compliance and controls
- Demonstrated experience in developing and establishing internal controls, implementing risk management strategies, identifying potential risks, and proposing effective mitigation plans
- Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems AuCditor (CISA), or similar, demonstrating expertise in internal controls and compliance is preferred
- Additional certifications in HR Management, Compliance, or Risk Management can be beneficial
- Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting HR Operations, and experience ensuring compliance preferred
- Experience working with both internal and external auditors, ensuring successful audit outcomes and implementing recommended actions
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, collaborate across departments, and influence stakeholders at various levels
- Proficiency in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions
