Who we are looking for
GCF is looking to hire for the role of a Quantitative Analyst AVP, a key position responsible for developing and managing models across various products including Fund Finance, Private Credit, Commercial Real Estate, Stable Value Wrap, and Leveraged Loans that will be used by the Global Credit Finance (GCF) division.
The role will also act as a liaison between GCF and MRM and other business partners and ensure the adherence of GCF's model risk function to the model risk guidelines as outlined by Regulators and interpreted and implemented by the State Street Model Risk Management function.
The Quantitative Analyst AVP will work closely with model owners and oversight partners to understand the business needs and conditions and determine the analytical tools and data needed for model development.

The role will report to the GCF Model Risk Officer and is a part of the GCF Business Intelligence and Strategy function.
The modeling/model risk roles within GCF are newly created in response to both business needs as well as external and internal findings and offer a significant growth potential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate is a team player who demonstrates intellectual credibility and can deliver clear, well-structured analyses and other communications (including reporting on model performance, presentations, technical documents, etc.) appropriate to the particular audience.
The candidate will:
- Work with the Product Heads/Loan Officers/Subject Matter Experts to assist in the development of models and analyses in support of making credit and business decisions
- Execute models to obtain model outputs, present and defend model results and downstream impacts to management, internal stakeholders, model validation group, and regulators
- Assess and maintain integrity of data, test model statistical and computational accuracy, perform output analysis, sensitivity analysis and back testing, and manage model governance and controls
- Develop solutions to integrate new models into monitoring and back testing framework (including coding solutions to automate processes), and work with IT to document business requirements and ensure methodologies are accurately implemented in production systems
- Conduct in-depth studies to understand internal and market conditions impacting modeling assumptions
- Perform testing to identify/quantify model risk associated with model methodologies and support enhancement of quantitative models using advanced statistical tools and analysis
- Maintain procedures governing ongoing monitoring methodologies and processes
- Complete ad-hoc assignments as needed, and demonstrate willingness to work collaboratively with other team members to meet departmental objectives on or ahead of schedule
- Develop and assist in the development of model technical documentation (as well as other requirements) as needed to meet the State Street Model Risk Management standards
- Work with the Head of Business Intelligence and Strategy as well as other team members to improve the overall analytical framework of the group in order to help drive optimal business decisions
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Advance degree in mathematics, economics (with an emphasis on econometrics and/or statistics), or a related field
- 5+ years quantitative aptitude/experience in a financial setting
- Econometrics skills, time series and panel data modeling a plus
- Instrument valuation, cash flow-based modeling
- Proficiency in statistical and analytical modeling languages such as Matlab, Stata, SAS, R, Python, SQL
- Experience with stochastic and deterministic models
- Understanding of time series analysis, regression, and other advanced, econometric techniques
- Understanding of Basel regulations as they pertain to a large US bank a plus
- Experience working with large and complex data sets
- Strong control mindset, with proficiency developing, evaluating and testing internal controls
- Strong project management and time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects
- Ability to bring both academic and practical perspectives to the role
- Team player, unquestionable integrity and ethical standards
- Ability to gain trust and respect of business partners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to articulate effectively ideas and highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior management

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
