About Us

Global Credit Finance (GCF) is the lending division of State Street, comprised of ~120 professionals globally. Both very nimble and profitable, GCF's mandate is to attract, serve and retain State Street's clients through the extension of credit, while optimizing the profitability of a diversified portfolio of loans constructed within balance sheet constraints.

GCF is comprised of five product groups including Fund Finance, Leveraged Loans, Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lending, Stable Value Wrap and Municipal Finance. The candidate will join the Fund Finance Real Money Funds team.

The Fund Finance Real Money Funds Team

Real Money Funds sits within the Fund Finance department, which is a key driver of revenue for the division totaling $25B of commitments. The Real Money Funds team provides loans to Regulated Mutual Funds. Many of the team's clients are part of larger valuable relationships to State Street Bank. The team is responsible for analyzing the credit, negotiating legal documents and fostering strong client relationships.

Who we are looking for

The incoming AVP on the Boston team should possess a positive attitude and strong quantitative skills. The successful candidate will have an ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders to assist in the underwriting of syndicated, bilateral or agented mutual fund lines of credit.

What you will be responsible for

As a Real Money Funds AVP you will:

  • Assist account officers with the due diligence process and underwriting of Regulated Mutual Funds, with the ability to independently analyze financial statements and other information pertinent to the borrower;
  • Work closely with senior account officers to review and negotiate legal documents;
  • Respond to requests for information from Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), internal audit and bank examiners; maintain high responsiveness and service quality across internal constituencies;
  • Work with Loan Operations and customers as appropriate to facilitate operational aspects of credit relationship;
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify, prioritize and escalate critical issues to senior management;
  • Work closely with account officers to continue to develop industry knowledge as well as underwriting and portfolio management skills, understanding of policies and procedures for credit and portfolio administration, and management of the legal documentation process;
  • May also be relied upon to handle assigned projects.

  • Familiarity with KYC/AML.
  • A positive attitude, a client service mindset and high level of attention to details.
  • Strong excel skills and prior Salesforce experience is desirable.
  • Capability to meet tight deadlines.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus but not required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, minimum of 2+ years of experience with legal documents and client negotiation
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
