As a Benefits Analyst, you will be responsible for analysis of Health, Welfare, and/or Retirement plans to track cost, develop trends and recommend programs to control healthcare and retirement expenses. WHAT OUR BENEFITS ANALYST ENJOY MOST
- Analyzing detailed data to look for trends
- Processing non-discrimination testing for the 401(k) in partnership with our external vendor compliance teams
- Processing funding for the 401(k) and review errors and other reports for the 401(k)
- Assisting with the annual Open Enrollment process and with the review and update of information on the total rewards site
- Addressing and provide resolution to escalated employee benefit related issues
- Assisting in overseeing assigned vendors and work closely with internal teams to ensure that deliverables are received accurately and on a timely basis
- Managing HR SharePoint projects and tasks for the Benefits team
- Assisting with preparation of materials and research/documentation of appeals for the
- Administrative Committee
- Addressing legal department requests (benefit support for subpoenas, etc.)
You'll be recognized as a subject matter expert within the Benefits department and will work on a wide range of benefits related projects; seldom are two days the same. You'll deal with benefit data and reporting so you must be resourceful, eager to learn and able to adapt to an ever-evolving work environment and industry. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Benefits experience 3-5 years
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree HR, Finance/Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
- Technical skills:
- Knowledge of employee benefit plans, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding ERISA, HIPAA and FMLA
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g. JD Edwards, Payroll software)
- Skills:
- Effective analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills
- Abilities:
- Can read, write, speak and understand English
- Can evaluate systems and procedures and develop improvements
- Can analyze and interpret data
- Can maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards
- Can manage multiple projects at one time
- Can document in a clear and straightforward manner
- Can prioritize and organize effectively in a fast paced environment
- Can show judgment and initiative to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
- Can interact positively and communicate with all levels of staff and management
- Can use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required) and can pay attention to detail
