Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 3 for the Unites States Marine Corps, Mess Hall 8th and I, located in Washington DC. This is a high profile operation that is a component of a very high volume, high prestige, US Military contract. Position will be part of a management team of 2 to include a GM, and Executive Chef with 3 additional front of house managers. Operation is located in the Washington DC and provides 7 day per week service, 3 meals per day, 365 days per year for a total of approximately 150,000 meals served annually. Operation(s) is cafeteria style service providing main entrees, vegetables, and salad options to future officers of one of our prestigious military organizations.

This position is located at the Navy Yard in Washington DC . This position will be providing leadership and supervision for approximately 4 managers, 15 full time staff, and 20 subcontract employees.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have 3-5 years operational management experience in a high-volume food service dining environment.
  • Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference - quality and presentation of food - customer service -
  • Be SERVICE focused- including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.
  • Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;
  • Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets.

  • have high volume food service experience;

  • have food service experience in a high-end establishment, preferred;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and have a passion for a high level of customer service; and/or
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
