We are currently seeking a self-driven professional for leading the execution of Decent Work Program with a passion for upholding human rights and facilitate inclusive workplaces to join our Sustainable Procurement team. This position is based out of Bangalore or Shanghai.
What will you do:
- Understand the sustainable procurement framework of Schneider Electric and gain subject matter knowledge on ESG-environmental, social and governance topics including current and emerging decent work and human rights issues in supply chain.
- Manage and lead global implementation of designated sustainability initiatives with suppliers, as mentioned below, but not limited to:

- Decent Work Program (SSI#6)
- Coordinate and co-manage global execution of the decent work program with all internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Global Procurement Services, regional/category procurement teams, SE digital teams, suppliers, expert 3 rd party agencies
- Engage, onboard and manage working relationship with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning of the program, including
- relevant contractual obligations, as and when required
- agreeing on working model, plan and timely execution
- timely responding to any queries/clarifications associated with the program
- Manage the annual onboarding of eligible strategic suppliers in the program
- Co-lead annual update exercise with global procurement effectiveness team
- Review and validate the strategic supplier list (data quality-duplication, inconsistency and others)
- Validating the supplier nomination with regional/category procurement teams
- Supplier engagement via procurement teams to ensure all strategic suppliers are onboarded
- Manage (create, engage and monitor) implementation of working plan for timely review of the supplier responses and feedback by the 3 rd party expert agency (current or future)
- Manage (create, monitor) the tasks to be executed by the Global Procurement Services and ensure the quality review
- Manage creation (co-ordinate, validate and execute user acceptance) and launch of survey in the SSPSRM
- Develop innovative solutions and implementation model for challenges related to decent work topics, including but not limited to living wage, responsible recruitment
- Co-lead the end to end initiative with all stakeholders
- Engage and lead the pilot execution with suppliers
- Co-lead initiative for quantification of tangible/intangible benefits of decent work program to a company
- Develop pilot to document the success stories, quantify and validate the impact
- Monitor and report SSI#6/Decent Work KPI for internal and external reporting
- Develop and coordinate implementation of a plan for internal and external training and awareness sessions (face-to-face and virtual, live and recorded)
- Expand the program to include various legal entities as and when required
- Benchmark decent work practices as implemented by Schneider Electric in its own operations and other leading companies
- Business Process Optimization:
- Leading and supporting continues improvements
- Monitoring and optimizing the workflow and communication protocol involving various stakeholder and participating teams.
- Provides consultative guidance to advise business users on best practice processes based on knowledge of various types of packaging
- Participate in regular meetings with the different stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement is addressed
- Work collaboratively with other departments (Procurement, Finance, HR, IT, etc. as required) to improve data integrity or clear system issues.
- Training & Change Management:
- Develop subject matter expertise (ESG-environmental, social and governance topics) and stay abreast of new or existing issues through application training to promote effective system performance and optimize business utilization of applications
- Obtain relevant certifications in the field of human rights and working conditions
- Support and coach additional team members
Qualifications - External
- Technical expertise
- Sustainable procurement
- Hands on experience on leading engagement with procurement teams and suppliers on sustainability topics, especially decent work, human rights and inclusive work place
- Advanced digital skills: Tableau, AI, ML, RPAs and understanding of programming algorithm to develop RPA capability within team.
- Strong MS Office tool skills are mandatory
- Strong verbal/written English communications skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- Ability to work in complex virtual organization with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to manage high work load and pressure situations
- Process and technology oriented
- Demonstrated leadership skills: Influence, drive for results, effective planning /prioritization, project management & collaboration
- Nice to have: proven track of record of leading Sustainability programs focus on Environment (supplier decarbonization, energy audit & efficiency, Green materials,...)
- Executive presence
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Industrial Relations (focus on worker rights), Supply chain, Information Systems, Business, Accounting or Engineering
Preference will be given to candidate with
- Knowledge and/or experience in
- Hands on experience in handling commercial procurement, supplier engagement/management
- Implementation of sustainability initiatives with suppliers
- Packaging projects handling at global scale
