Overview
We are currently seeking a self-driven supply chain sustainability professional to lead strategy development and deployment in our sustainable procurement team. The role requires the incumbent to have deep understanding of various facets of sustainability (climate, human rights, circularity, biodiversity, just transition etc), impacting supply chain of a corporation.

The incumbent will be responsible for defining the sustainable procurement strategy within the overall framework of company sustainability strategy.
The position will report to VP, Sustainable Procurement.
What will you do:
- Update Sustainable Procurement Strategy:
- Create and implement a comprehensive sustainable procurement strategy in sync with the company sustainability strategy. This includes:
- Defining the thematic areas
- Develop programmatic interventions to facilitate strategy implementation
- Align the strategy and operations with other corporate teams
- Horizon scanning of the evolving sustainability landscape to proactively identify future trends and focal areas to generate value for the company and customers
- Facilitate development of programmatic interventions as and when required
- Create and implement a comprehensive sustainable procurement strategy in sync with the company sustainability strategy. This includes:
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Environment, Global Supply Chain, Corporate Citizenship etc) to ensure alignment and operational harmonization
- Engage and represent Sustainable Procurement to external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, NGOs, industry forums) to promote, learn and adapt sustainable procurement practice
- Risk review:
- Proactively identify sustainability-related risks in the supply chain
- Identify and communicate to relevant teams on the mitigation actions
- Regulatory landscape:
- Review the evolving regulatory landscape to identify new sustainability requirements from supply chain and integrate them in various programs
- Connect and engage with relevant departments to ensure harmonization
- Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, practices and emerging technologies to drive sustainable procurement.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present regular reports on sustainable procurement progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Business Process Optimization:
- Optimize business processes to ensure efficiency in global deployment
- Work collaboratively with other departments (Procurement, Corporate
Environment, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, etc. as required) as and when required
- Organizational Development
- Review the future readiness of team structure and organizational alignment
- Identify areas of skill enhancement within the team
- Define avenues for professional growth for the team members to ensure high potential talent retention and recruitment
- Training & Change Management:
- Lead training and capacity building initiative to meet program objective
- Develop practical training material to facilitate implementation
- Deliver training material to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay abreast of new developments in the field and incorporate in the program
- Support and coach additional team members
- Lead training and capacity building initiative to meet program objective

Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Demonstrated experience (min. 8 years of experience) of leading and driving large scale supplier sustainability programs with tangible results.
- Expertise in the areas of climate change, human rights, circularity, gender and inclusivity etc.
- Interoperability: Ease of engagement with corporates, NGOs/Civil Society, public institutions/agencies.
- Procurement/supplier engagement/management/sourcing background
- Strong verbal/written English communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills: Influence, drive for results, effective planning / prioritization, project management & collaboration
- Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Supply chain, Information Systems, Business, Accounting or Engineering
