Drives' Activity is the specialist and world leader in the provision of reliable, reliable and efficient solutions for the control of electrical energy to control electric motors. innovation, simplicity and operational excellence.

This activity sells 2 Million of products a year for a global sales amount of 800M€.

Drives Domain is mixing a lot of different technologies and associated challenges totally in line with the Schneider Electric Strategy like:

- Power Conversion and Motor Control enabling Energy Efficiency

- Application Control or Functional Safety enabling Solutions for the customers

- Ethernet, Web Servers and DTM enabling Digitization and Services

Job description

You will be responsible of a multi-discipline team for China engineering and customer support included in the Control System and Modeling R&D Department: Customer motor application control, Motor Control and Communication protocols

This team will be located in China.

He/she will have as responsibilities:

- Work with the management to build the full team under your responsibilities in the first months.

- Allocate resources to carry out the roadmap

- Keep and leverage the internal resources agreeing targets and goals, develop internal talents (coaching)

- Ensure the consistency, implementation and documentation of process methods and tools

- Prepare and control his team budget

- Work with Project management to construct and optimize the work breakdown and budget needs

- Foster the cooperation with other R&D team to enhance technological transfer

- Ensures development and capitalization of knowledge and know-how.

Qualifications

Skills / Requirements:

- Experience in R&D Department is a must

- Lean/Agile mindset is a must

- Consolidated knowledge of power conversion in the context of an industrial variable speed drive VSD.

- Experience in design of embedded motor control is a must

- Good knowledge on communication protocols is a plus

- Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-national teams

- Familiar with Continuous Improvement methods and tools

- Readiness of mind, analytical thinking, flexibility & ability to act independently and on your own responsibility, resilience

- Experience in Variable Speed Drives is a plus

- Willingness to travel

- Previous experience w/ development cycle is desirable

Additional Qualifications

- Chinese and English are mandatory, French Speaking would be a plus

- Electrical Engineering (at least master degree or equivalent) is a must

- At least 5 to 10 years of experience in R&D

- At least few years' experience in functional management

- Master or PhD degree in firmware engineering or equivalent is a plus

- Experience of Engineer Project Manager or equivalent is a plus.
