The Director, Partnerships and Commercialization will play a leadership role, driving growth and strategic initiatives by building and managing partnerships that expand Santander Bank's reach and enhance its product offerings. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, strong relationship management, and a deep understanding of financial products and services. The director will work closely with cross functional teams including Product, Marketing, Technology and Finance to build and execute partnership strategies that drive business growth and product innovation.
Job Description
- Identify and establish key partnerships for Santander and develop a pipeline of partners for Santander banking and lending products
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify new partnership opportunities that can drive product innovation and business growth
- Lead business development efforts, prepare pitch decks and manage responses to RFPs
- Coordinate product design, commercial terms, launch timelines, contracting and ensure that business success criteria are met
- Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor and evaluate the success of partnerships, making recommendations for improvements and optimizations
- Work closely with Santander Group's global innovation centers and Global partnership teams in identifying and pursing opportunities in US

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess partnership performance and drive decision making based on data
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Prior experience in BD/Partnership roles in banking and financial services and ability to manage several parallel sales cycles
- Product development and GTM strategy experience for lending and deposit products
- Knowledge of High Yield Savings card, loans, loc P&L, unit economics and vintage level metrics
- Awareness of emerging capabilities and technology that can be commercialized within Santander
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Education: Bachelor's Degree required: Business, Statistics, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, Economics. Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience:
10+ Years of experience within Financial Industry in Product, GTM or Business Development roles
