Why it matters: In this newly created role, you will have experience selling to organizations and agencies in the communications, PR, advertising, AdTech, RMN and marketing industry. The role will focus efforts predominantly on new business to build Axios’ revenue through successful partnerships across Axios’ Communicators and Media Trends portfolios.

- Be a key player on the Client Partnerships team and a brand ambassador for Axios
- Establish new relationships for Axios’ Core Media team, and proactively network across the market and create new opportunities for our company
- Develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with agency and client partners to expand Axios' footprint within your category
- Proactively generate ideas to expand Axios’ Communicators and Media Trends portfolio through new product, sponsorship and underwriting opportunities.
Details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in sales, specifically in the digital media/news industry
- Established relationships with key agencies and brands
- In-depth knowledge of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape
- Comfortable with a mix of outbound sales strategy as well as the nurturing of inbound leads and existing client relationships
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills and the willingness to proactively partner with Axios Brand Studio and events team

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $80,500 - $108,500 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes a sales incentive component, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
