Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts who will be the Contracts focal for an international Capture team and resultant contract award within the Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This individual contributor role demands a multi-faceted, strategic Contracts Leader to deal with complex situations and creative solutions that will include international licensed production / intellectual property licensing and requisite U.S. Government authorizations. The selected candidate must have strong aptitude in Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) terms & conditions, U.S. DoD, and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contracting, as this DCS capture is anticipated to have interdependencies with the international capture and FMS requirements. The position reports to the Senior Director, Contracts for the sub-SBU and is expected to have regular communication with leadership.

The successful candidate's attributes should include but are not limited to strong experience with DCS risk assessment and negotiations, understanding the implications of bonds, foreign tax and U.S. export control law and regulation, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, subject matter expertise in general contracting, and be able to provide contractual and business guidance to the capture team. This position may be based out of our Raytheon offices in Andover, MA, or Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
- Advise capture team and leadership of contractual and performance execution risks, rights and obligations and means to mitigate business, contractual, and/ or program risks
- Ability to understand the financial aspects for overall business interests, contracts and other business arrangements; ability to develop and execute negotiation strategy resulting in a financially sound, risk tolerable, executable contract action
- Develop customer engagement strategies necessary for successful contract execution and resolution of challenges and risks
- Partner with team in shaping customer interface, ensuring that terms and conditions comply with policies and guidelines, contemplate risk mitigation measures, ensure an executable program and ability to recognize revenue and collect cash
- Regular International travel primarily to Europe
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically require a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience in International Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) Contracting
- Negotiations experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in U.S .Government and / or Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Contracting
- Foundational understanding of the FAR and DFARS, the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR)/ Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and terms and conditions analysis and negotiations
- Strong aptitude for developing and maintaining productive and influential relationships
- Effective, executive level oral and written communication skills

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
