The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts within the Short and Medium Range Ground Based Air Defense (SMGBAD) area. This role demands a multi-faceted, strategic Contracts Leader to deal with complex and creative solutions to support the U.S. Army's Enduring Indirect Fire Protection Capability (E-IFPC) system. The candidate selected for this role will be a manager, supervising a contracts team and providing leadership to an active Other Transaction Authority (OTA), its transition to a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) based program, along with the IFPC 2nd Effector completive OTA capture. This role is Onsite at either our Tucson, AZ, Andover, MA or Huntsville, AL locations.

The successful candidate's attributes should include but are not limited to direct supervisory responsibilities, strong experience with FAR/DFAR/Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) terms and conditions risk assessment and negotiations, understanding the implications of international work, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, subject matter expertise in general contracting, and be able to provide contractual and business guidance to the Program Management Leadership.
What You Will Do
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
- Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
- Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process.
- Have the ability to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with complex customers
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with the FAR and the DFARS
- Experience in development of proposals, to include one or more of the following: researching, fact-finding, negotiations

- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust

- Knowledge of the missile defense market

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
