  • Transition AM design concepts into full production AM products.
  • Define the overall objectives for AM technology development, material characterization, process development, and documentation.
  • Assist in executing technology development plans.
  • Develop manufacturing and inspection methods and corresponding documentation.
  • Identify appropriate AM materials for various projects.
  • Develop and execute material characterization plans to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard work and process documentation.
  • This role will preferably be based in West Des Moines, IA, and reports to the Executive Director of Engineering for the ECS business. The selected candidate for this role is expected to be on-site approximately 75% (or more) of the time. Some travel will be required (generally 25% or less).

  • What You Will Learn -

    • You will refine your ability to communicate complex strategies, and program plans effectively to both internal and external customers at all leadership levels.
    • You will gain experience in matrix leadership of IPD teams to achieve customer cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
    • You will gain experience in developing and implementing the overall Additive Manufacturing (AM) strategy, focusing on technology development, material characterization, process development, and documentation.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Prefer -

    • Experience working in Additive Manufacturing with Aerospace materials
    • Active Security Clearance
    • Advanced degree in Additive Manufacturing or a relevant Engineering Discipline

    The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
