Robinhood’s International Government and External Affairs team is looking for a Government Affairs Strategist for Europe. We are looking for a highly adaptable individual who can handle ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities with flexibility and humility. You will help lead our efforts to strengthen our relationship building and engagement in policy matters with key government stakeholders across the UK, EU, and other relevant markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and add to our mission to democratise finance for all.

What you’ll do

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key government and industry stakeholders across the UK, EU, and other relevant markets
  • Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory developments in financial services, digital assets, fintech, and other policies that could impact Robinhood’s customers, operations and business interests
  • Equip key internal stakeholders with clear and timely understanding of complex legislative and regulatory policies that may affect our business
  • Refine and implement Robinhood's public policy strategy to support the company's strategic business and corporate priorities
  • Draft substantive consultation responses and policy letters to advise on government policies that could affect our business
  • Assess the political and policy environment to identify advocacy opportunities that advance Robinhood’s policy priorities
  • Lead engagements with industry associations, ensuring their agendas drive Robinhood’s policy goals
  • Prepare briefing materials for executive-level engagement with key government officials

What you bring

  • 6+ years of experience, including familiarity with the broker dealer, fintech, or digital assets industries and a proven track record of advancing policy interests in these areas
  • Existing relationships and positive rapport with relevant government stakeholders and industry groups in the UK, EU, and other relevant international markets
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills, with an outstanding ability to communicate information effectively internally and externally and to drive cross-functional alignment and action
  • Extensive experience in government affairs, with a focus on financial services
  • Execution oriented attitude with the humility, drive, and creativity to get things done
