The CAD Drafting Intern will perform basic drawing creations and revision from drawing markups and Engineering sketches in accordance with accepted drafting standards under the guidance of / in support of senior drafters.

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.This position will begin in January 2024 and is a part time role, working roughly 15-20 hours per week while in school (additional hours available during breaks). This is not a "summer-only" internship.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Apply drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) standards and CAD software to simple component drawings.
  • Create simple sheet metal component and assembly three dimensional part drawings from markups and engineering sketches.
  • Operate computer systems to create and manage task documentation and data, task result and project status reporting.
  • Manage electronic communications, assigned tasks and task documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide regular verbal and written reports summarizing project activity, conditions, procedures, results, conclusions and recommendations to project leaders.
  • Complete assigned tasks and participate in R&D design development teams according to defined requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Full time student working towards an Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree, Vo-tech Degree or equivalent experience. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of:
  • sheet metal and assembly design concepts
  • general drafting standards and CAD systems concepts
  • interpersonal, verbal and written communication
