Leidos is seeking an intern to assist our IT infrastructure engineering team within the Department of Justice IT Portfolio. In this portfolio, Leidos provides various IT services, engineering, and technical support for customers primarily within the Department of Justice. Support includes managed IT services, managed service desk (Tier 1), deskside support (Tier 2), workstation and server engineering and maintenance, security, managed print services, ITSM, infrastructure, Agile development, and end user support to name a few.
The IT infrastructure engineering team supports, manages, upgrades, and configures a variety of IT infrastructure tools necessary for our customers to successfully use the IT environment.This includes items such as Active Directory and Entra ID.The team manages and issues SSL certificates necessary to keep customer data secure, and ensures that certificates to not expire.They monitor state of health of the IT infrastructure and take appropriate corrective actions if health status warrants.The team is frequently involved in troubleshooting issues ranging from authentication, stability, performance, and availability.The intern will help the team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to documenting root cause analyses, monitoring health status, tracking SSL certificates, fulfilling certificate renewal requests, updating user information in Active Directory and Exchange, planning technical upgrades and installations, coordinating resolution of technical problems, and collaborating with customers and staff.This is an exciting opportunity to learn some of the "nuts and bolts" underpinning IT operations, and help our customers in the process.

The individual selected for this position should be pursuing a degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or computer science and should have a broad technical background.The candidate should have the ability to multitask and juggle numerous priorities and customers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills will help the intern be successful.
Location: This position may be remote.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team with SSL certificates
- Assist the engineering team with managing Active Directory and Entra ID
- Help document root causes of IT issues
- Participate in troubleshooting sessions to help resolve system issues
- Draft technical documents to help others better understand the IT environment
- Monitor system state of health and take action to resolve issues
Note that other duties as assigned related to the scope of the program may also be tasked to this individual.
Basic Qualifications
Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer's information. Current clearance is not required, but selected individual cannot start the assignment until the required security clearance is granted by the customer. This process is currently taking 12+ weeks (quicker for candidates who have current clearance).
Required Education & Experience:
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to multitask and function in a quick-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
- Past experience with ATF
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Experience providing IT support for law enforcement operations.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
