A career in Office of General Counsel, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the Firm's legal department by providing dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, counselling, and corporate, commercial, and employment law. You'll play an important part in all aspects of regulatory proceedings involving the Firm and its personnel by supporting on regulatory issues, advising the Firm on matters relating to its operations, supporting the Firm's client contracting function, and advising on matters related to employees. As part of our team, you'll help with researching background information related to legal issues and prepare legal documents. You'll focus on drafting contracts or legal agreements, retaining files of prepared legal documents, and coordinating requests between internal and external counsel.

The Opportunity
As part of the Legal Services team you provide legal support in the field of corporate law. As a Director, you set the strategic direction, lead business development efforts, and oversee multiple projects while maintaining impactful executive-level client relations. This role involves managing corporate transactions, evaluating legal risks, and translating complex legal issues for business audiences.

What You Must Have
- Juris Doctorate
- 5 years of experience in progressively responsible post-qualification legal experience in the field of corporate law, either at a recognized law firm (or a combination of law firm and in-house)
- Admitted to practice law in at least one US state and is in standing

- Expertise in corporate law, partnership law, commercial transactions, regulatory analysis, and M&A
- Technical specialization of governance, financing, cross-border contracts, and employment/tax/IP matters
- Ability to identify and manage legal risks, propose solutions, and escalate critical issues

- Experience managing teams, external counsel, and high-level projects
- Skilled in negotiation, risk assessment, and contract drafting
- Understanding of corporate governance and cross-border contracting

The salary range for this position is: $122,500 - $495,500, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
