Demonstrates intimate-level abilities and/or a proven record of success managing efforts with identifying and addressing client needs:
- Manages the internal clinical denial and appeals team to diligently investigate payer denied claims and deliver quality outcomes;
- Utilizes thorough knowledge of InterQual, Milliman Care Guidelines and EMR chart review;
- Prepares and reports on payer clinical denial activity, financial impact and opportunity to improve;
- Identifies coding and clinical documentation trends related to different cases and various insurance carriers; and,
- Applies extensive knowledge of the payer industry, revenue cycle management, revenue cycle process, and appeal process.
Demonstrates intimate-level abilities and/or a proven record of success managing efforts with identifying and addressing client needs:
- Applies working knowledge of medical records documentation, CPT, HCPCS, DRGs and billing compliance rules;æ
- Mentors and trains teams as needed on clinical denial writing skills;
- Solves complex problems and issues using analytical abilities;
- Communicates Medicare rules and regulations, commercial payer coverage guidelines, and thorough understanding of the claim dispute process for various payers;
- Exhibits proven oral/written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Provides proven customer service skills and demonstrates ability to work with a diverse group of people;
- Develops and updates clinical denial policies and procedures as applicable; and,
- Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).

The salary range for this position is: $103,500 - $233,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
