Are you a current Freshman or Sophomore student majoring in a STEM field looking to diversify your skills, learn more about the insurance & financial services industry, and want to learn more about the Actuarial profession? Are you interested in being a part of an exciting early awareness program that is focused on exposure to the actuarial profession and critical skills associated with the profession, working with diverse teams on exciting projects, and building relationships with leaders in the actuarial community? Then Prudential's Actuarial Success Awareness Program (ASAP) is the place for you!
The Actuarial Success Awareness Program (ASAP) is a 2-day virtual experience that takes place in May 2025 and is designed to expose academically strong students with STEM majors to a career in the Actuarial profession. The program is open to first and second-year students that have a background or experience that is underrepresented in the financial services industry or actuarial field.
The Program:
ASAP participants will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in educational overviews to gain exposure to the actuarial profession.
- Network with Prudential actuaries, many of whom are members of the Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP).
- Learn more about the actuarial profession at Prudential and life insurance industry in general.
- Develop technical skills through a group project.
- Interview for the Actuarial Internship Program (AIP) for the following summer.
Actuaries at Prudential partner with groups such as marketing, sales, underwriting, and investments to create new insurance, annuity, retirement, and investment products. In addition to roles in traditional actuarial areas, our actuaries also work in finance, investment, asset management, and marketing. This presents a unique opportunity for our actuaries to move around the organization and develop their careers with a variety of different teams.
Timeline:
We review applications on a rolling basis, and we encourage you to apply as soon as you are ready. All spring applications will close on or by Friday, March 14th, 2025, at midnight ET. We reserve the right to close applications early due to volume or role(s) being filled.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program graduating between December 2026 and May 2028
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred majors include Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, STEM or other relevant math-focused major.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and computer skills
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Preferred 3.2 GPA and above
