The LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) Class Mission Module program team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Quality Control (QC) and Site Safety Lead who will be responsible for compliance with U.S. Navy and Northrop Grumman quality assurance and safety programs, policies, processes, procedures located at the Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) at Naval Base San Diego (MMRC-SD) in San Diego, CA.
What You'll get to Do:
As the QC/Safety lead, you will ensure the quality and safety of maintenance performed on Mission Package Equipment using established standards, specifications and agency guidelines to meet the functional and operational needs of the LCS Class Fleet home-ported out of San Diego California. As the NG QC representative, the candidate will provide expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance. Candidate will work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, process control analyses or audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications. The qualified candidate must be able to multi-task in a robust environment to coordinate overall quality and safety of the NG team working within the framework of the Navy, Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) and NG policies. May serve as liaison between the company and the various governmental agencies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• As the NG EHS (environmental health & safety) representative, the candidate will be responsible for reinforcing site and/or program safety protocols, maintaining documentation, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NG policies and procedures, monitoring the facility for safety hazards, and responding accordingly. Candidate will support Fall Protection operations as needed by conducting inspections of harnesses and other associated equipment.
• As a collateral duty you will be the site training coordinator and will develop and monitor the training and certifications of MMRC San Diego contractor personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or a Masters degree with a minimum of 0 year relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience in Navy quality control systems may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Must have a minimum of an active Interim Secret security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance if selected."
• Working knowledge with ALL three of the following: Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), Navy Occupational Safety Health (NAVOSH) Afloat 5100.19, and NAVOSH Ashore 5100.23
• Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship, climbing 20 feet ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge/use of the Navy's Maintenance Systems such as SKED and MFOM
• Experience with MS Excel; Basic knowledge of MS Project
• Navy Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) Certified
• Navy Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) Certified
• NAVY MFOM experience
• Work Center Supervisor
• 3M Coordinator
• Master Training Specialist (MTS)
• Ship's Safety Officer
• Knowledgeable in the handling and disposal of hazardous material operatio
Salary Range: *$73,900 - $110,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
