Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the SEC Reporting team. This high visibility team is part of the Controller's organization and is responsible for leading the quarterly SEC Financial Reporting process as well as the maintenance of the Company's Financial Consolidation reporting system. The Manager, SEC Financial Reporting will work directly with and report to the Manager 3, SEC Financial Reporting to manage the preparation of Northrop's 10-Q and 10-K filings for submission to the SEC. This role requires coordination with multiple stakeholders, strong analytical and communication skills, and understanding of the latest regulatory developments that impact our SEC filing and financial reporting requirements. We are looking for an individual that is proactive and can provide process improvements to maximize efficiencies in financial reporting.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work directly with the Manager 3 of SEC Reporting to:
• Prepare and/or review information used to create the Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and earnings releases, including collaboration with internal stakeholder groups and SEC reporting analysts, review of disclosure requirements, and review of XBRL tagging
• Collaborate with sector financial reporting teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close process
• Build and maintain relationships with sectors by communicating jointly-developed projects, enhancements, and data requests o Provide accounting and system guidance to sectors to ensure financial statements are free from material errors
• Support leadership team with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross functional collaboration within the organization • Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements, assessing the applicability to Northrop Grumman
• Develop, coach, and evaluate one or more direct reports, providing on-the-job training, prioritizing tasks, promoting the free exchange of ideas, and fostering a team environment
• Suggest thoughtful improvements to the SEC reporting process that enhance efficiency
• Execute the operation of SEC reporting SOX controls
• Manage the preparation and submission of certain quarterly and annual census reports and surveys
• Research and interpret SEC and FASB reporting guidance and applicability to Northrop Grumman's disclosures, collaborating with Corporate Technical Accounting as necessary

• In-depth working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and diction
• Strong research and analysis skills; able to clearly and concisely summarize impact of SEC reporting or financial accounting requirements on Northrop

Qualifications -
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting with 10 years of experience in a Big 4, Regional Public Accounting Firm, or a publicly traded company
• Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience
• Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified public accountant
• Prior experience in the aerospace & defense industry
• Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management software and/or Workiva

Salary Range: *$129,300 - $193,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
