Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Flight Certification Engineer / Flight Certification Engineer. * This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Dulles, VA.

Responsibilities for the Associate Flight Certification Engineer / Flight Certification Engineer include:

Identify reliability requirements.
* Support early trade studies to drive design-for-reliability into the engine control system avionics architecture in order to achieve reliability requirements.
* Develop requirements and design solutions to implement fault tolerance into the engine control system avionics architecture.
* Support EEE part selection and bill of material review.
* Perform reliability analysis to identify design weaknesses and inform design improvements, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Critical items definition, limited life analysis, and reliability prediction.
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing their bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution.
* Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM program.
* Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications

BS in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical discipline.
* Proven track record of building trust and effective working relationships that improve team performance, deliver results, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
* Experience in system development, integration, or testing of aerospace products or complex electromechanical systems.
* Experience of either liquid rocket engines or avionics for space operations.
* Experience with electrical design best practices for electrical components and circuit card assemblies, i.e. de-rating, Worst-case analysis, thermal, FMECA, and reliability prediction.
* Coursework or experience in systems engineering practices throughout the product lifecycle.
* Experience in design, development, integration, or testing - preferably with aerospace hardware or sophisticated technical systems.
* Experience performing system safety and reliability analyses, such as: Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs).
* Experience with reliability Weibull analysis and parameter estimation, stress-strength interference analyses, probability distribution estimation, reliability growth modeling, and probabilistic risk analysis.
* Experience working with reliability analysis and reliability modeling on a software such as Minitab/Matlab/ Windchill Risk and Reliability/ Ansys Sherlock.
* Working understanding of configuration management principles and practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).

Engineer Systems Salary Range: 87,200 - 130,800
Salary Range: *$62,200 - $130,800
