About the Division
Corporate Treasury provides corporate finance advisory service to senior management and internal business units. It also optimizes the Firm's liquidity and capital base, manages the Firm's foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and coordinates relationships with regulators, rating agencies, and creditors.

About the Role
As a member of Corporate Treasury, you will be supporting Treasury activities across the Japan region. The role is based in Tokyo however will involve working as a part of Asia Treasury team, and partnering closely with counterparts in Europe and North America. In particular, you will have regular and direct interactions with Risk, Operations, other Finance Groups, IT and the business units.
Treasury Capital Markets team is the markets facing function of Corporate Treasury. TCM raises liabilities for the firm via debt issuance and manages the associated hedging along with the liquidity reserve investments.

Key Responsibilities
Focus on two areas of Treasury Capital Markets:
1. Liquidity Management / Funding execution
1) Manage Firm's liquidity reserve, investments, and currency needs in Japanese Yen (JPY)
2) Execute reverse repurchase agreements, FX swaps, in order to position JPY resources to meet internal and external requirements across Firm subsidiaries
3) Engage directly with Business Units, Risk management, Finance and Operations on funding and liquidity impacts of market moves, large trades, MS capital actions etc.
4) Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders within Corporate Treasury as well as Firm Risk Management, ISG Business Units, Financial Resource and Strategies, Finance, Operations and Technology
2. Structured Notes/Debt Issuance Coverage
1) Acquire subject matter expertise on managing the structured notes issuance Treasury approval workflow for Japan originated debt, working closely with the local business unit and global Treasury debt team
2) Establish working relationships with the Structuring/Financial engineering teams locally and advise them on structuring/issuance appetite related queries in accordance with the Firm's debt management framework Essential
Good understanding of investment banks, financial markets, and the role of Corporate Treasury
Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; ability to understand complex transactions
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with team across geography and timezone
Ability to multi-task and manage time in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
JSDA Securities Sales Representative Class 1

Preferred
Business level English and Japanese
Experience in Treasury, funding or cash management function of financial institution
