The Morgan Stanley Experienced Professionals Program (MSEPP) is designed to recruit professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, with or without a background in finance and to develop their banking skillsets through training and the apprenticeship model. This is a program with an emphasis on attracting populations who have experienced barriers to entry in the finance industry, including first-generation college students, people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and others who can bring a unique and authentic perspective to Morgan Stanley as a result of their life experiences.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Morgan Stanley Investment Research is uniquely committed to being an essential part of our clients' investment process. We strive to be the sell-side research provider that best understands the buy side. Through relevant and timely conversations with leading investors, we focus resources on risk-reward essentials: identifying the investor debates, assessing the potential outcomes, and uncovering the evidence our clients need to validate their investment decisions. Our equity analysts cover over 6,000 stocks; our economists, strategists and fixed income analysts cover all major regions and other asset classes around the globe. OPPORTUNITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT
Selected candidates will be placed within one of the four areas below, based on interest.
Equity / Credit Research: responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals and industry trends. Equity and Credit Research analysts collect and analyze financial information, and build financial models, to make investment recommendations on stocks or debt instruments in specific sectors. Team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations through written work and meetings with client and sales force.
Economics: responsible for a variety of analyses, building econometric models to understand and explain global macroeconomic phenomena and explore global macro themes. This includes participating in proprietary research projects, which may include survey work and ad-hoc modeling. Responsibilities in this group would also include scope for further development that would include independent client-facing presentations.
Rates: responsible for contributing to the analysis of US interest rate markets with a specific focus on interest rate derivatives, including implied volatility, and money markets. This team works with a mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis of data sets, relative value in derivative products, and market events and opportunities. Responsibilities in this group would also involve writing research notes, speaking to clients and presenting at meetings.
TRAINING PROGRAM
The Research program begins with an eight-week training and development curriculum to equip you with the fundamental and professional skills needed to be successful. The curriculum includes coursework in financial statement analysis, corporate finance and financial modeling, and seminars hosted by more experienced members of the department. You will also participate in training and study sessions to prepare you for any required licensing and registration exams. Along with formal training, you will be assigned a mentor when you arrive at the Firm.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have graduated from a 4-year accredited university and have 2 to 6 years of post-graduate work experience.
Applicants should have strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative. Excellent written and oral communication are a must, as well as having genuine intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic. Microsoft Office, programming and/or statistical analysis skills are a plus. We are committed to mentoring and training Program Participants, and we will ensure that those entering from outside Financial Services have the tools for success.

COMPENSATION
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
