Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Background on the Position
The role will reside within Investment Management Finance which is a team dedicated to providing support to Morgan Stanley's Investment Management segment (MSIM) a leading global asset manager across the public and private markets. Members of the Investment Management Finance team can expect to be involved in financial control and business partnering responsibilities. The successful candidate will join the Hong Kong Regional Team.
Main duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Perform monthly and quarterly revenue/expense reporting to various Business Units in Asia
> Perform periodic revenue/expense analysis/projections for Business Unit in Asia
> Prepare month-end reconciliations and sign off on Revenue/ Expense / Balance Sheet
> Perform and review global accounting functions including posting monthly journal entries to the general ledger and checking of accruals
> Liaise with Business Units and other functional teams to support the general partners' Private Fund activities
> Liaise with other functional areas of Finance and other divisions e.g. Tax, Legal and Entity Controllers to facilitate local business operation and ensure proper P&L booking / reporting
> Assist in various regulatory reporting requirements as requested by Compliance, Auditors and different government agencies
> Coordinate with global counterparts and other controllers on business developments and initiatives
> Interface with business unit and infrastructure team to address ad hoc requests and analyses
Qualifications:
> Min. 3 years working experience in a similar role desirable
> Good management reporting and financial accounting skillset. Accounting degree/experience preferred. Knowledge/Experience in the Asset Management business an added advantage
> Strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience producing reports in PowerPoint preferred
> Ability to quickly grasp new technology and tools
> Good analytical and numerical abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
> Confident and comfortable communicating at all levels of staff within the firm, in a clear and succinct manner. Fluency in Mandarin and written Chinese preferred
> Ability to see things through from start to completion and provide good quality assurance for deliverables
> Curious, adaptable and works well in teams
