Key Responsibilities:
- Keeping abreast of privacy regulatory changes in APAC and assessing applicability to the Firm
- Coordinating with relevant BUs, Compliance coverage, Privacy Legal and Privacy Operations to conduct business impact analysis for new or changes to APAC privacy rules/ laws
- Coordinating with Privacy Legal to provide advisory on interpretation of new privacy rules/laws and providing 2ndLoD challenge on design of controls and control effectiveness to meet privacy requirements in APAC
- Drafting and maintaining relevant privacy policies, procedures, guidance and training, as necessary
- Coordinating with global Privacy Compliance team to maintain rules inventory
- Participating in privacy risk assessments via the Compliance Risk Assessment and Risk and Control Self-Assessment processes, as applicable
- Recommending regional monitoring and testing activities as part of Annual Compliance Planning
- Assisting with privacy operations such as privacy impact assessments and privacy rights requests, as requested
- Providing support for privacy incidents/breach notifications, as necessary
- Participating in Global oversight privacy committees such as the Global Privacy Committee (GPC) and the Privacy Compliance Practice Group (PCPG), and regional forums such as the Asia Data Governance Committee (ADGC)
- Participating in privacy investigations, exams or audits that involve APAC Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:
- Knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulations in Asia Pacific
- Prior role in compliance, risk management, legal or related function (12+ years of experience)
- Familiarity with industry frameworks for identifying and managing privacy risks
- Experience communicating and interacting with regulators on privacy related matters
- Experience drafting policies, procedures, training and/or other compliance documentation
- Understanding or experience with risk assessments, monitoring/testing, metrics and/or reporting
- Ability to collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams/individuals at all levels
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills, proactive work ethic and team player mindset
