Job Summary
Mizuho U.S. Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Stress Testing and Capital Analysis team as an Assistant Vice President. In this role, you will be involved in developing and enhancing stress testing scenarios, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the stress testing scenarios for risk management, risk appetite, capital planning based on internal requirements and supervisory guidance (CCAR).
- Drive the scenario expansion efforts, ensuring comprehensive coverage of material risk factors.
- Implement stress scenarios in various valuation systems, perform UAT for scenario changes.

Qualifications
- Advanced degree in physics, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience applying quantitative/statistical/econometric methodologies to applications in finance.
- Proven experience in quantitative analysis, particularly in stress testing and capital analysis.
- Strong knowledge of cash and derivative products within fixed income and equity asset classes.
- Strong understanding of various methodologies such as regression, PCA, Machine Learning, and Volatility Scaling.
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as R, Python, SQL, VBA, Power BI, and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Inherent curiosity and a deep desire to understand and improve processes.
The expected base salary ranges from $90,000 - $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
