Meta's Reality Labs designs, develops, and builds all its own Metaverse and Wearables products. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for identification, selection and development of long-term partnerships for new products and new technologies through early engagement across cross functional partners, aligning external partner strategy to internal product roadmap needs, and to deliver best in class components and modules meeting Meta product requirements at the right time, at the right speed, and at the right cost.Reporting to the VP of Strategic Sourcing, Meta is seeking an experienced Director for the Strategic Silicon Sourcing vertical with a scope including strategy, strategic partnerships and supplier relationship management within custom and commercial silicon development and supply. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to transform our sourcing team, and to be on the cutting edge of disruptive technology development. In this role, you will be responsible for Silicon sourcing across our ecosystem, including the commercial, operational and technical performance of our technology and supplier base. Together with your team and numerous internal partners, you will be responsible for quality, product and material availability, and cost that spans the Metaverse and Wearables space.

Director of Strategic Sourcing, Silicon Responsibilities:
- Develop overall vision, strategy and execution plan for the Silicon sourcing function, and work with VP to ensure alignment with overall organizational strategy
- Negotiate and execute master supply contracts and other critical agreements, including licensing agreements, SOWs, etc.
- Develop, manage and refresh individual and customized technology and commodity sourcing strategies for each actively managed technology within Silicon
- Work in partnership with the Custom Silicon engineering team to develop a supply base and strategic partnerships that address our custom and commercial Silicon vertical needs, while ensuring industry leading cost, quality and predictable supply
- Develop deep technical and commercial relationships with executive management at suppliers to influence supplier technology roadmaps and create disruptive value-add
- Work with HR, and senior team members to hire, train, develop, and lead a team of Silicon technology and component sourcing professionals
- Identify and monitor changes to Silicon sourcing landscape, and changes in buyer / supplier power to forecast trends and determine competitive forces
- Engineering or technical BS degree
- 15+ years of sourcing and technology experience, including 10+ years leading a team within silicon/semiconductor sourcing
- Proven record track of hiring, training and developing a global sourcing team of 40+ FTEs across multiple locations and time zones
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and strategic partnerships in the silicon supply chain across the entire product development process in high volume manufacturing.
- Proven experience as a motivational, communicative and highly collaborative leader who not only engages the team through enthusiasm and excitement about the business, but also works effectively outside of the sphere of direct influence
- Experience building trusting relationships with executives in engineering, product management, and other cross-functional partners and driving discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
- Proven track record of success within large and complex enterprises with extensive hardware portfolio.
- History of working in a fast paced, rapidly growing and changing environment without traditional systems and support tools that most sourcing professionals would be familiar with.
- Advanced Engineering Degree or MBA
